Real Madrid have agreed to a £50 million deal for Bournemouth’s star defender Dean Huijsen after reportedly agreeing to trigger his release clause. The 20-year-old is also set to accept personal terms with Los Blancos soon, snubbing offers from big Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle, and Arsenal.

Huijsen’s release clause of just £50m is quite a steal considering the amount of talent and quality he's shown at such a young age for the Cherries while also being one of the biggest breakout stars in the Premier League this season.

The 20-year-old defender will not require much convincing to join Real in the new era under Xabi Alonso, as, like almost every aspiring Spanish footballer, his childhood club has also been Real Madrid.

As per David Ornstein, Madrid have also been interested in Huijsen for a long time, keeping tabs on him since his stints at Malaga and Juventus before joining Bournemouth.

Real Madrid aim to seal the transfer before the upcoming inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in June in order to fulfil the new manager Xabi Alonso’s demand for a young centre-back, who should also be comfortable on the ball, which prompted the club to go for Huijsen.

The Spanish international is set to become Madrid's second signing for the season after having secured a mega deal with Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer from Liverpool.

Dean Huijsen is set to follow his idol's footsteps

Dean Huijsen has been a hardcore supporter of Real Madrid since his childhood and has also publicly stated that Sergio Ramos has been his idol throughout his career.

The 20-year-old has been indispensable for Bournemouth this season, propelling the club to a strong finish in the league this season.

Huijsen’s ball-playing ability makes him a special talent, being an exceptional defender who possesses the skill of creating chances out of nowhere using his sharp vision. He boasts a stellar passing accuracy of 84% and has created 14 chances towards goal this season, which fulfils Real Madrid and Xabi Alonso’s criteria for their new centre-back.

Defensively he's been stunning, not easy to get past, bolstering a stunning 72.2% win percentage in successful tackles while winning 114 duels and also making 50 interceptions.

The 20-year-old has made a staggering 101 recoveries in a fast-paced league like the Premier League, making him one of the most exciting defensive prospects in the world at the moment.
