FC Barcelona blew away their arch-rivals Real Madrid to take a firm step towards the La Liga title at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona last night.

The potential title-deciding clash ended with a stunning scoreline of 4-3 in favour of the home side, consisting of sensational goals from star players like Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Kylian Mbappé.

Barça were made to work hard and make a stellar comeback after going two goals down inside just 15 minutes, courtesy of Kylian Mbappé’s electrifying brace. However, Hansi Flick’s star men, Lamine Yamal and Raphinha, led the team's epic ‘remontada’ to pull them two goals ahead even before hitting the half-time mark.

The Catalan giants have now extended their lead at the top of the La Liga table by 7 points, standing with 82 points in 35 games. Barcelona can secure the league title with a win against Espanyol in the Catalan derby next week, which will be their 28th league title.

The Blaugrana supremacy sends shockwaves in the Spanish capital: Barcelona and Real Madrid’s epic clash

Real Madrid had stunned the Blaugrana with two quick goals under fifteen minutes, putting them on the brink of yet another heartbreak following their tough loss against Inter Milan in the Champions League last week.

Kylian Mbappé’s incisive runs in behind Barça’s defence had shocked the home side’s defence, who were unable to cope with the brilliant Frenchman. However, Barcelona showcased their ‘Flick mentality’ and mounted yet another stunning comeback to cancel out Mbappé’s quick-fire brace.

Eric Garcia headed in from a corner kick that led to the team's resurgence, which was quickly followed by Lamine Yamal’s moment of pure magic, who curled in a sensational first-time shot beyond Thibaut Courtois’ long reach to pull the game back on level terms.

It wasn’t long after Yamal’s goal when Flick's men turned the game on its head, with Barcelona’s tremendous winger, Raphinha, adding two quickfire goals in ten minutes to complete a sensational first-half comeback to put his side two goals ahead after having fallen two behind just a few minutes ago.

Real Madrid managed to keep Barcelona at bay in the second half while adding another one to spark hopes of a comeback of their own, with Kylian Mbappé becoming the first-ever Madrid player to score a hat-trick in the Clasico since 1995.

However, his three goals fell short as Hansi Flick’s men picked up all three points to place one hand on the La Liga title.

As per Sofascore, Barça dominated the game, having maintained a 62% ball possession while attempting 23 shots and having an xG of 4.26, whereas the Los Blancos only attempted 9 shots, recording an xG of 2.74.

With last night’s victory, FC Barcelona have managed to secure a 100% win record against Real Madrid this season, winning more than three games against the Los Blancos in a single season for the first time in El Clasico history.

Barça also dominated and dismantled the new Galacticos in the previous three encounters as well, winning by a scoreline of 3-2, 5-2, and 4-0, respectively. Hansi Flick's men have also scored 16 goals during these games, with an average of 4 goals per game.
