Multiple reports are claiming that Manchester City’s midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season, is likely to stay in Europe amidst interest from top clubs.

As reported by Sky Sports, Napoli is the team that is currently in talks to sign De Bruyne, with reports claiming Antonio Conte’s fascination for the Belgian has prompted the Italian giants to consider offering him a crucial role in their current project.

Alongside Napoli, Premier League clubs like Liverpool and Aston Villa are also reported to be keeping tabs on De Bruyne, with Liverpool set to make a surprise entry in the race to sign the star midfielder.

Liverpool? Napoli? or a possible departure from Europe?: What seems to be the likely destination for Kevin De Bruyne?

Both Napoli and Aston Villa have built attractive projects under the management of Antonio Conte and Unai Emery, respectively, as both clubs aim to become regular competitors in the Champions League, making them worthy as a new destination for De Bruyne.

However, Aston Villa appear to be in a weak position at the moment, as Napoli are reported to have already started the negotiations with the Belgium captain for a potential free transfer in the upcoming days, making them the frontrunners in the race to sign the Manchester City superstar.

Along with Conte’s admiration for the midfield maestro, the presence of KDB’s national side teammate and friend, Romelu Lukaku, will also act as a favorable factor for Napoli in order to try and persuade Kevin De Bruyne for a move to Naples.

However, as per Di Marzio, Liverpool’s sudden interest in the 33-year-old midfielder has come as a major shock and a possible hindrance for the Italian giants, as De Bruyne’s admiration for his childhood club, Liverpool, might allow the Reds to snatch the Belgian captain from Napoli’s hands.
