Chelsea’s exiled defender, Ben Chilwell, has finally managed to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Crystal Palace coming in as his saviour.
According to The Athletic UK, Crystal Palace have signed Chilwell on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season, and will pay half of his wages. Chilwell will travel to the Eagles today to complete his medical and sign all the documents.
Having been banished from the first team squad by new manager Enzo Maresca, Chilwell has been in search of a new club since last summer but wasn’t able to find one until now.
The full-back had hoped to fight his way back in the squad under Enzo Maresca, hoping to succeed again at Stamford Bridge. However, fate had different plans for him.
Ben Chilwell is set for a new adventure at Selhurst Park
Ben Chilwell will be delighted to join the Eagles following a terrible period of time at Chelsea recently.
Having not played since September of last year, the Englishman will be aiming to make a strong comeback to try and also make a return to the national team, possibly for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, injury concerns still remain a problem for the England international. His time at Chelsea also took an unexpected turn because of his injury woes only.
Crystal Palace’s medical team has an uphill task ahead to prepare Chilwell and make him match fit as soon as possible.
Many fans expect that Ben Chilwell will make his debut for Crystal Palace against Doncaster Rovers in the fourth round of the FA Cup, which is scheduled to be played on 10th February.
How will Crystal Palace benefit from this move?
Ben Chilwell brings a lot of experience, as he is a seasoned veteran who featured in the Premier League 169 times.
He was also the unsung hero of the Chelsea team that lifted the Champions League trophy in 2021, under the management of Thomas Tuchel.
Chilwell is also a leader on and off the pitch who has also captained Chelsea on many occasions. He'll be looking to bring his leadership skills to Selhurst Park as well.
Crystal Palace have suffered an unfortunate injury and lost Chadi Riad, which prompted the Eagles to go for the Chelsea full-back. The England international is expected to be a great replacement for the youngster.
