AC Milan have managed to sign their second attacking reinforcement of the winter, having agreed to a loan with Chelsea for their star player, João Felix, on the deadline day of the winter transfer window.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Milan and Chelsea have agreed to a short-term loan deal for the Portuguese, valid until the summer.

The agreement is reported to be worth more than £5 million, and the salary will be covered by entirely by the Italian giants. The deal doesn't include an option to buy, which means that Felix will return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

Having given the green light to the move, Felix will travel to Milan today for his medical and to sign all the documents, aiming to be unveiled as the club's latest signing as soon as possible.

Felix will be AC Milan’s 3rd signing of the winter, following Santiago Gimenez’s and Kyle Walker’s arrival in the past weeks.

A move away seemed inevitable for João Felix

João Felix will leave Chelsea despite having arrived just 5 months ago.

The Portuguese star, who had played for the Blues before on a loan deal, made a permanent switch to Stamford Bridge from Atletico Madrid last summer, following the end of his contract with the Spanish giants.

However, the presence of other star players such as Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, and Noni Madueke, who are Enzo Maresca’s preferred starters, has resulted in Joao Felix falling way down the pecking order.

As per SofaScore, Felix has played a total of only 877 minutes for Chelsea in all competitions this season, making only 8 starts in just 19 appearances.

The issue clearly indicated that a move away from the Bridge was inevitable and even imminent for the Portuguese player in order to rebuild his form and momentum.
