Lionel Messi has provided a major update regarding his future at Inter Miami amidst rumours of his journey in the MLS soon coming to an end, with a possible return to La Liga appearing on the cards.

According to The Times of India, Messi’s contract with Miami is set to expire at the end of 2025, and with no updates of a potential contract extension, the commotion surrounding the 37-year-old superstar has increased even further.

However, as per the latest reports, the David Beckham-owned MLS side are pretty optimistic about Messi’s contract situation and aim to secure his future with them.

What did Lionel Messi say about his contract situation?

When asked recently about his contract situation during the post-match after a 3-0 defeat against Orlando City in the MLS, Lionel Messi gave a direct and blunt response, stating, “No,” prompting the fans to believe his stint with Miami might be coming to an end.

However, Inter Miami's manager Javier Mascherano has expressed optimism surrounding his star players’ future and believes that Messi’s contract renewal will be completed “within a few days”.

The club’s co-owner Jorge Mas has also expressed his firm belief regarding securing Messi’s future with Miami but also stated that the final decision will completely lie in the hands of Leo and his family.
