Juventus have reportedly set their eyes on Newcastle United’s midfield maestro, Sandro Tonali, who is said to be an “untouchable asset” for the Magpies.
The Bianconeri have an ample number of talented midfielders in their repertoire, with the likes of Weston McKennie, Khéphren Thuram, and Douglas Luiz present in their roster but failing to accomplish what the club and the fans would be hoping them to achieve.
As a result, Juventus want to bring Tonali to Turin, as they reportedly believe he might be a suitable solution for the Serie A giants, which is a primary reason for their drive for the “phenomenal” Italian midfielder.
Tonali’s importance to Juventus: Why do the Old Lady want the Italian powerhouse?
It is being said that none of the new Juventus’ recruits have lived up to the club’s expectations, as both Douglas Luiz and Teun Koopmeiners have not performed well, with the latter even costing around €60 million, which doesn’t justify his recent performances.
On the other hand, Douglas Luiz’s spark seems to be coming to an end since joining Juventus, making him another fringe player in the squad.
Amongst all these issues, the lack of creativity in the middle of the pitch has also cost Juve a lot this season, which might end if Igor Tudor can bring a midfielder like Sandro Tonali, who is known for his creativity and long-range shooting ability as well.
Further, he can combine his attributes with the pace of USMNT international Weston McKennie and the physicality of Khéphren Thuram and can form a dominating midfield trio.
However, as per Sky Sports, Newcastle are likely to not listen to any offers for their 24-year-old Italian midfielder unless Juventus or another club is to put up a staggering amount of money on the table, close to €120 million as per reports.
