Arsenal and Juventus are set to battle it out for Lille’s star No.9, Jonathan David, as both clubs aim to bolster their attacking prowess in the summer transfer window.

David, who has hinted at a potential exit from the French club in the summer, has attracted interest from several European giants over the past few months. However, it is being reported that it is ultimately set to be a contest between Arsenal and Juventus, who will fight to secure his signature.

The Gunners have been desperately in need of a consistent goal-scoring No. 9, as both Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz haven't been up to the mark with their numbers and have even struggled with injuries on a frequent basis, which has led to their fascination towards the Canadian.

On the other hand, Juve are expected to part ways with Dusan Vlahovic in the coming months, who had rejected Arsenal a few years back to sign for the Bianconerri.

As a result, the Italian giants are keen on a complete revamp in their frontline, leading to them monitoring the situation of some of the top strikers in the world, including David.

“Jonathan David is looking for a good sporting project”: Which is the most favourable next destination for him?

David’s contract with Lille runs down at the end of the season, and with him rejecting new deals with the French giants, he is set to be available as a free agent in the summer.

However, the challenge that comes with the 25-year-old is his desire to be a part of a sporting project and to play in European competitions on a regular basis.

Arsenal will have the edge over the Old Lady when it comes to a better sporting project along with consistent Champions League qualification since the last few years.

Mikel Arteta’s presence is another advantage that Arsenal have over Juve, with the Spaniard’s knowledge and experience of grooming young talents being a massive puller, while Juventus, on the other hand, lack coaching experience at the moment and are in the lowest of lows when it comes to stable management.

As a result, the 36-time Serie A champions would have to compensate for these disadvantages by offering a much better deal to David than the Gunners in order to try and lure him to Turin.
