The Fantasy Premier League is approaching its 23rd gameweek, and the managers will be hoping for a high-scoring gameweek after a mediocre GW 22, where the average score stood at just 40. However, despite the quiet gameweek, Manchester United's players scored big, as they secured a stunning win against the mighty Manchester City in Michael Carrick's debut game.

The change in playing style and game plan brought in by Michael Carrick has made the Red Devils play more fiercely and aggressively, which made their assets secure massive hauls last weekend. The United starting XI scored a combined 73 points, an average of 6.63 points per player.

With 2 green and 2 grey fixtures in their next 5 games, it surely seems like a good time to bring in the Man Utd assets, with Fernandes and Mbeumo also ranking as the top two most transferred-in players ahead of their clash against Arsenal.

The best Manchester United assets to target for the next five gameweeks

1) Bruno Fernandes - £9.2m - MID

Captain Bruno Fernandes is currently the most exciting Manchester United asset, with the Portuguese maestro ranking as the most transferred-in player this week, having averaged 6.1 points per game this season so far. With a more advanced role under Michael Carrick, the star midfielder is expected to bag more attacking returns in coming gameweeks.

2) Bryan Mbeumo - £8.1m - MID

With more than 220,000 transfer-ins ahead of GW 23, Manchester United's highest goal-scoring player this season made an impactful return after coming back from the AFCON, scoring the opening goal against Man City last Sunday and bagging a 9-point haul. With the Red Devils expected to finish much better than they started the season, Bryan Mbeumo's performances are surely expected to improve even more as well.

3) Patrick Dorgu - £4.3m - DEF

A £4.3m defender playing as a winger – that is what Patrick Dorgu will bring to your team. The electric wing-back has started all of his last 5 Premier League games on the wing and has managed to register two goals and an assist, while also recording a phenomenal 15-point haul in his last game. Dorgu's high-attacking involvement, along with his designation as a defender in the game, gives him a strong potential to provide returns at both ends of the pitch.

4) Casemiro - £5.5m - MID

While there might be more exciting midfielder options in the same price range, Casemiro provides a stable path for managers to secure decent points on a regular basis, credit to the Brazilian's 12.1 defensive contributions every 90 minutes this season. On top of his 186 DEFCONs, Casemiro has also provided 7 attacking returns so far this season, making him the second-highest scoring Manchester United player in the game currently.

5) Lisandro Martinez - £4.8m - DEF

With a total of 26 defensive contributions in his last 3 starts in the Premier League, the Argentine centre-back has delivered rock-solid defensive performances since his return into the Man United starting XI and therefore provides the potential to deliver points through DEFCONS even in the toughest of the fixtures for his backers.
