Aston Villa are prepared to make a late move for Manchester United's star player, Marcus Rashford, in order to reinforce their attack even more.

In a surprising twist in the saga, Villa have entered the race to sign the United winger and are now reported to have become the frontrunners as well.

Rashford, whose exit from Old Trafford seems imminent due to his broken relationship with the new manager, Ruben Amorim, has been chased by multiple clubs this January, which include FC Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan.

As per Goal, the 27-year-old forward was reported to be ‘very close’ to joining Barcelona a few weeks ago. However, no further progress has been made in the deal yet.

Unai Emery confirms Villa’s interest in Rashford

In the pre-match press conference on Thursday for the Wolves' clash today, Unai Emery confirmed Villa’s interest in Marcus Rashford.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the negotiations between Manchester United and Aston Villa have begun, with United expected to agree to the proposal.

However, the only person that can stop this deal from going through is Marcus Rashford, as he is reportedly confused whether to join a direct rival of his boyhood club or not.

The interest in Rashford comes on the back of the club's reported interest in Chelsea's Joao Felix and PSG’s Marco Asensio as well.

With the signing of Donyell Malen from Dortmund, along with Jhon Durán’s £64 million sale to Al-Nassr, Aston Villa have made quite a few notable headlines in the past month and are preparing to make another massive headline with a blockbuster move before the transfer window closes.
