Luis Diaz is reportedly open to leaving Liverpool this summer, and the player's camp has held talks with Bayern Munich’s sporting director Max Eberl over a potential transfer to Germany this summer.

Diaz is considered a key player by Arne Slot, but the 28-year-old seeks a long-term contract at the club, which the Reds are currently not ready to do. His complex situation has attracted interest from FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but Liverpool have rejected all approaches.

As per reports by Sky Sports Germany, Bayern Munich are pushing to secure Luis Diaz and “remain keen” despite facing rejections from Liverpool; however, they received a major breakthrough last week when the Colombian agreed to the deal in principle.

There has been no progress since, but the Bundesliga giants are trying to get past the negotiations patiently. Barcelona are also lurking behind the scenes for an opportunity to sign Diaz, but their financial constraints are holding them back. The 28-year-old had previously stated that it's his “dream” to play for the Catalan giants.

Liverpool have set a massive price tag on Luis Diaz amidst interest from Bayern Munich

Liverpool have made it clear that the club considers Luis Diaz a key player but aren't looking for a long-term contract renewal at this point. As a result, the Reds will only let their star winger leave if an exceptional offer lands at their table, valuing above €80m, at which they could consider negotiating for a transfer sale.

At this point, there is interest only from the Bundesliga champions, who seek to bring the 28-year-old to replace Leroy Sane, who left this summer to join Besiktas.

While Bayern have not been able to match Liverpool's valuation of Diaz, as per the latest updates, the Bavarians are planning to make a new offer, worth up to €60m for the Colombian, which is €20m short of the Premier League champions' asking price.

Diaz, who has two years left on his contract, seeks an extension with a considerable raise in his wages, which doesn't seem too difficult for Liverpool as well. However, the Reds have reportedly asked the player to run down his contract and depart on a free transfer two years later.
