Cristiano Ronaldo has equalised his goalscoring record at Juventus for Al Nassr. The Portuguese legend bagged a brace in their 3-0 win over Al Akhdoud.
The 40-year-old has bagged 12 goals in the first 10 games of the season, equalling his record of scoring 12 goals in the same number of games for Juventus in the 2020-21 season.
This is his second-best return after the completion of the first ten games of a season; his best campaign was in the 2014-15 season when he bagged 18 goals for Real Madrid.
The Portuguese forward netted the 956th goal of his illustrious career and is just 44 goals away from reaching this historic milestone, which no one has achieved before. He is on a goal-scoring streak in the Saudi Pro League, as he scored in his eighth consecutive game.
Cristiano is also currently the top scorer of the Saudi league, with 12 goals alongside teammate Joao Felix. Even at this age, he is showing no signs of slowing down, and his numbers just prove why he is regarded as the greatest goal scorer of all time.
Ronaldo has also expressed his desire to reach the landmark 1000th goal before hanging up his boots.
"I will reach that number for sure if there are no injuries," said CR7 at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. (sic)
He further added, "I am still very motivated to carry on; it doesn't matter where I play – in the Middle East or in Europe – I always enjoy playing football, winning trophies and scoring goals, and I want to carry on." (sic)
"You know what my goal is: I want to win more trophies, and I want to reach the number that you will all know." (sic)
CR7 has his sights on the World Cup, as it's one of the few trophies missing from his cabinet. He is set to lead Portugal at next year's World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, when he will be 41 years old.
