The sun shines in the east, and Erling Haaland breaks yet another goalscoring record in football as he becomes the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the Premier League, breaking Alan Shearer’s record.

The 25-year-old Norwegian netted his 15th league goal this season in their 5-4 win against Fulham. He has bagged 20 goals in just 19 games in all competitions, and these numbers speak for themselves.

Haaland’s century of goals came in just his 111th appearance against Fulham with a brilliant finish from Doku’s cross in the first half. Shearer needed 124 appearances to get to the century mark and had held this record for a long time.

At the rate at which Haaland is netting goals each season, if he continues his career in England, he might break Shearer’s 260-goal record as well, cementing him as an all-time PL great.

Ever since the Norwegian international joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund for £51m, his numbers have only gone up. As per data collected from Opta, his strike rate is more than some of the elite goalscorers of all time in the Premier League, including Sergio Aguero, Thierry Henry and Harry Kane.

In his statistically worst season for Manchester City, he managed to bag 34 goals, which is generally a dream season for a forward playing in the Premier League. This stat shows how much he has really improved as a goalscorer since arriving in England to pillage opposition defences.

Haaland is a living goal machine for Manchester City, and his “robot celebration” highlights it.

"A proud moment; the 100 club is a huge thing. To do it this quickly is amazing. I'm proud; I'm happy," Haaland said in the post-match interview (sic).

He further added, "I've said it many times – a striker for City should score a lot of goals. That's my job; that's what I try to do. And I'm not bad at it!” (sic)

Man City boss Pep Guardiola also congratulated his no. 9 for reaching this exceptional landmark on Tuesday.

"Congratulations, it is incredible,” said Pep.

He further added, "What can I say? Today he was outstanding. He was unbelievable and scored a fantastic goal. Enjoy it; hopefully he is hungry to continue getting goals for this club” (sic)
