Red-hot rumours are flying all across Europe as Alexander Isak has grabbed the headlines once again, with reports linking the Newcastle striker to a spectacular move away from St James Park one more time, while some reports have hinted at a contract extension.

Clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona, and Arsenal have set their eyes on the 25-year-old Swede, while the Magpies are planning to offer him a contract worth £150,000 a week, making him the highest-paid player at the club in order to convince him to stay put.

Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has shed some light on this matter, stating, "Newcastle in strong position with Isak." (sic)

He further added, "Champions League qualification makes it significantly easier to keep hold of Alexander Isak. He has three years left on his contract, and the club are in a strong position to hold firm and keep him this summer." (sic)

However, Isak's ambition might influence his contract extension talks in the coming days, on which Keith said, "Isak knows he can earn more elsewhere, and he's ambitious. Whether his ambitions can be met at Newcastle remains to be seen, but I do expect at least one more season at St James' Park. Like Bruno Guimarães and Anthony Gordon, he will want to see the club act this summer, though. They need help." (sic)

Apart from their star striker's contract situation, Newcastle have been pretty busy in this summer transfer window themselves, having recently made a £45m bid for Nottingham Forest's star winger, Anthony Elanga, but saw their offer being rejected as Forest have a higher valuation of their star player.

On the other hand, the Magpies are exploring other options which include Karim Adeyemi, Johan Bakayoko, and West Ham's £85m talisman, Mohammed Kudus.
