Tottenham Hotspur rocked Pep Guardiola's Manchester City to a 2-2 draw in a thrilling encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London. It was a tale of two halves, as the Cityzens slipped up in the second half after a sensational first-half performance which saw them take a two-goal lead at half-time.

Pep Guardiola's side have now drawn their fourth consecutive game in six games in the Premier League and also lost to Manchester United in this poor run of form. They find themselves rooted at the second spot in the table, six points behind leaders Arsenal, who gained a huge advantage after slipping up recently against Man Utd.

For Spurs, it was all about the individual brilliance of Xavi Simons, Connor Gallagher and Dominic Solanke. Thomas Frank was brilliant with his in-game management, which made sure that the north London giants remain unbeaten against Pep Guardiola's side in the league this season.

Rayan Cherki and new signing Antoine Semenyo gave Man City a crucial two-goal advantage early on, but they started to slip after a controversial own goal by Marc Guehi. In the second half, Spurs pushed for goals and pressed relentlessly, and that resulted in an inevitable collapse from the Cityzens.

Tijjani Reijnders came close twice for City in the second half, but that was all from the visitors in the second half as Spurs snatched away crucial points from them and it could very well turn out to be the Premier League decider.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri demands better refereeing in Premier League following Tottenham's controversial goal

Rodri blasted the Premier League’s quality of refereeing after Manchester City's 2-2 draw away at Tottenham Hotspur. Pep Guardiola's side are now six points behind the Gunners' in the title race, and it's not looking good for the Cityzens.

The Ballon d'Or winner blasted the VAR for allowing Marc Guehi’s own goal, which was Tottenham's first goal of the game, and set the tone for an incredible comeback from the home side.

Spurs’ no.9 Dominic Solanke appeared to kick through the back of Guehi's legs which eventually put the ball across the line. This decision did not sit well with the City players as they have seen VAR decisions go against them on several occasions this season.

The midfield maestro has questioned the credibility of refereeing in the league which could also impose a fine and suspension as a disciplinary action.

"I know we won too much and the people don't want us to win, but the referee has to be neutral, and for me, honestly, it's not fair," said Rodri in the post-game interview. (sic)

"It's not fair because we work so hard in these situations, and now to make these decisions, we have to move on. Of course you need to come back but at the end, when everything is finished, we are frustrated because it's so clear the foul. He kicked the leg and of course with the push of the action on the ball, the ball went in.” (sic)

He further added, “We have to pay attention to these little things; otherwise it's going to be difficult for everyone because this league is like this – it's about small details, and everything counts, so I think today is a very tough day for us in this sense.” (sic)
