Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt defied all odds, securing a massive 3-1 victory against Manchester City to stay alive in the Champions League. Erling Haaland's return to Norway didn't go as he would've expected.
City went 3-0 down, as Kasper Hogh bagged a sensational brace before Rodri got sent off after being shown a second yellow. Jens Petter Hauge added the third goal for the home side with a sensational goal from outside the box, leaving Donarumma stranded.
Rayan Cherki did pull one back for Pep Guardiola's side, but Bodø were rock solid at the back. The Norwegians exposed City’s shaky backline, who struggled to deal with crosses from both wings.
After Rodri got sent off, it was all Bodø as they took full control of the game and won the game handsomely to keep their chances of qualifying for the playoffs alive. Man City need to pick themselves up, as the next game is very crucial to secure a top eight finish.
Manchester City players set to refund travelling fans after embarrassing loss to Bodø/Glimt
Manchester City's skippers have announced that they are set to refund the cost of tickets for all the travelling fans after their embarrassing defeat to Bodø/Glimt.
Bernardo Silva, Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias, and Rodri made this decision as a token of gratitude to the Cityzens. There were around 374 tickets sold for the away fans, which would cost around £10,000.
"Our supporters mean everything to us; we know the sacrifice that our fans make when they travel across the world to support us home and away, and we will never take it for granted. They are the best fans in the world,” said the Man City captains in a statement. (sic)
They further added, "We also recognise that it was a lot of travelling for the fans who supported us in the freezing cold throughout a difficult evening for us on the pitch. Covering the cost of these tickets for the fans who travelled to Bodø is the least we can do.” (sic)
Manchester City face Wolves next in the Premier League on Saturday, where Marc Guehi is set to make his debut for the Cityzens. He was a much-needed addition at the back for Guardiola and co.
