As per the latest reports, Mohamed Salah has been offered the opportunity to be the new face of the Saudi Pro League following Cristiano Ronaldo's protest against Al Nassr's owners, which could eventually lead to his departure this summer.

The 33-year-old has been offered triple the amount of wages he earns at Liverpool, which is around £400,000 a week. It is likely that the Egyptian’s nine-year journey with the Reds will end soon.

The Saudi Pro League are keen on landing the Liverpool star in the Middle East to replace Ronaldo, who has even threatened to let go of his £3.35 million a week deal as a protest over the league's favouritism towards Al Hilal.

The Portuguese superstar slammed the shared ownership structure of the league that allowed Karim Benzema to sign for Al Hilal from Al Ittihad, making them even stronger than before. He did not feature in Al Nassr’s win against Al Riyadh as a mark of protest against the organisation.

Therefore, there have been rumours of CR7 returning to Europe or the MLS as he seeks to complete his 1,000-goal milestone. Several Saudi clubs had attempted to sign Salah last summer, but the Egyptian international pledged his loyalty towards Anfield and signed a contract extension.

However, Salah and Liverpool boss Arne Slot have gotten into bad terms, which even saw the 33-year-old getting benched regularly before the AFCON. As a result, the former Chelsea and AS Roma forward could be tempted to leave the Reds for this massive deal, which would also benefit the defending Premier League champions by freeing up a lot of wages.

As reported, all the parties involved prefer a deal to materialise before Salah heads to the United States to represent his nation at the FIFA World Cup.
