Marseille and their manager Roberto De Zerbi have decided to exclude Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe from his squad and have even told the duo to leave the club as soon as possible, following their horrible clash in the dressing room after the club's 1-0 defeat in the Ligue 1 opener against Rennes on Friday.
The club officially stated that Rowe and Rabiot have currently been excluded from the squad due to the two players sustaining major injuries; however, the actual reason was unacceptable behaviour in the dressing room, which has majorly disappointed Roberto De Zerbi and co.
Marseille later confirmed the actual reason for the duo's exclusion while even confirming their listings in the transfer market via an official statement, which read, "This decision was taken due to unacceptable behaviour in the dressing room after the match against Stade Rennais FC, in agreement with the technical staff and in accordance with the club's internal code of conduct." (sic)
"No way back to Marseille": Experts believe that there is no way back now for Rowe and Rabiot
France international Adrien Rabiot, 30, has been reported to have instigated the spat that took place between him and England international Jonathan Rowe in the dressing room, which further escalated to a physical brawl as well.
The spat began with Rabiot accusing Rowe of lack of commitment, which was followed by a nasty reply from the latter, leading to unreal and ugly scenes in the Marseille dugout.
The incident is being reported as the "boiling point" for manager Roberto De Zerbi, who had also been previously reported to be unimpressed by the duo in the pre-season as well, with Rowe already being offered to several clubs over the past month.
Marseille also confirmed that the manager and the club management's decision has been communicated to the two players, who, as of now, have no way back in the squad and must secure a move elsewhere.
