Inter Milan’s worries about heading into the second and the deciding leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final tie against FC Barcelona without their star striker Lautaro Martinez have come to an end as the Argentine is set to be available for selection.

The Argentine No. 9 was suffering from a thigh injury, where an extension to his left flexor muscle appeared to be a major issue, which even restricted him from playing the full ninety minutes in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals last week.

However, to everyone’s surprise, Martinez has managed to recover earlier than expected, with his recent medical reports clearing all the concerns of him missing out on the crucial clash against Barcelona next week and even potentially the remainder of the season.

Lautaro Martinez’s return increases Inter’s hopes of edging past the mighty Barcelona

For the Barcelona fans, Martinez’s recovery will not come as delightful news, as the lethal Argentine possesses the ability to step up in crucial fixtures for Inter and become the deciding factor with his deadly eye for goal.

In 38 matches across all competitions this season so far for Inter, Martinez has netted a staggering 21 goals and provided 6 assists. His record in the Champions League has also been impressive, scoring 8 goals in just 12 games.

Therefore, Neuzzuri’s hopes of progressing into the finals have surely increased with the 27-year-old’s return, who once again has played an influential part in Inter’s strong campaign so far.

However, the question is: can Martinez deliver to everyone’s expectations, as there is a high chance he might get restricted minutes having just recovered from his injury?
