FC Barcelona produced yet another complete five-star performance on Sunday by thrashing Valencia 5-0 at the Mestalla to maintain their perfect start to the new La Liga campaign.

Hansi Flick’s side showed ruthless efficiency up top with relentless pressure, leaving Valencia with no answers throughout the evening in front of their home crowd.

The visitors needed just six minutes to take the lead after Fermin Lopez picked out Lamine Yamal with a clever pass, and the teenager produced a brilliant first-time finish to send the ball past the keeper from a very tight angle.

Barcelona continued to suffocate Valencia with their relentless pressing and kept rotating possession. The second goal arrived in the 22nd minute when Fermin found an opening inside the area and unleashed a powerful shot right into the bottom corner.

It was one of the most complete performances by Fermin, who bagged a goal and two assists. Just four minutes into the second half, Barça scored again as Raphinha found the net after getting played on by Fermin.

The Brazilian is currently the league's top scorer with 6 goals in 4 games.

Even after scoring the third, Barcelona kept attacking relentlessly, and Pedri eventually added the fourth goal before Yamal capped the wonderful performance with a fifth goal.

Dani Olmo played a brilliant pass which cut through the Valencia backline and found Yamal, who calmly took his time and finished it past the keeper.

Hansi Flick's side completely dominated the game right from the start, and it was much more than just those five goals.

This victory extended Barcelona's perfect record to four wins in the league.

The defending champions are on 12 points and are three points clear at the top, having scored 17 goals in just 4 games.

The season ahead is long, but this performance has sent a clear message to all the rivals. Even without a natural number, 9, Barcelona are playing with incredible creativity and confidence, and Flick has given full freedom to his attackers, which is helping the team gel together even more.
