The broadcast rights for the upcoming season of the Indian Super League have been acquired by Fancode after their bid beat the other competitors, including JioStar and ABP.

Kaleidoscope Production and Services have acquired the production rights for the top-tier league in Indian football. AIFF had opened the bids for the broadcasting and production rights on Monday.

“We are pleased to have concluded the ISL media rights process and to partner with FanCode, one of India’s leading sports platforms. FanCode’s focus on accessibility and fan experience aligns with our objective of expanding the league’s footprint and engaging more football fans across the country,” said the AIFF Deputy Secretary. Fancode will be responsible for linear TV and digital broadcast of the league. Jio Hotstar had the broadcasting rights last season, worth Rs 275 crores per season.

Fancode has grown as a popular broadcasting company in sports, which also has the rights for La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1. The addition of the Indian Super League could generate more views as compared to last season.

Fancode will not be responsible for the production rights, as they had bid only Rs 8.2 crores. KPS, a company from West Bengal that had the production rights of the I-League, Durand Cup and Bengal Super League, is set to take charge of the ISL as well.

The AIFF gave FanCode the rights on the basis of a combination of technical and financial advantages from the bids. Prior experience, quality of production and cameras gave FanCode a massive advantage over other competitors.

The Indian Super League is set to get underway from 14th February with two fixtures: Mohun Bagan Super Giants vs Kerala Blasters and FC Goa vs Inter Kashi. As per AIFF, these fixtures could be rescheduled as per the broadcaster’s convenience.
