Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, are reportedly planning to sign the talented young forward who has been highly admired by Arsenal and Chelsea for some time now.
As per Bavarian Football Works, RB Leipzig’s No. 9, Benjamin Šeško, is the name that is popping out of the shadows for the 32-time Bundesliga champions, who the club plans on signing as a future replacement for their star talisman Harry Kane.
As per Transfermarkt, the Slovenian striker is valued at €50m, which is considered to be “very reasonable” by the Bavarian giants for a player of Sesko’s calibre.
Major update in Šeško-Bayern saga
In the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur signed Mathys Tel from Bayern on loan, which took away their only backup No. 9 option.
Tel’s loan deal includes an option to buy, with reports suggesting that the North London giants would have to pay an amount close to €60m in order to sign the 19-year-old on a permanent move.
Bayern Munich are seeing this deal as an opportunity to fund their transfer plans for the summer, which primarily includes signing a striker for the club’s future.
At the moment, Benjamin Šeško is seen as the “perfect option” by Bayern because of his tremendous agility and strong ability on the ball, which perfectly suits Kompany’s playing style.
However, signing the 21-year-old goal scorer would not be an easy task for the German giants despite Leipzig’s reasonable asking price for their star forward, as Premier League clubs, namely Arsenal and Chelsea, have also shown strong interest in the Slovenian, with both clubs being desperate to sign a goal-scoring forward.
Therefore, some reports are also claiming that the 31-time Bundesliga champions already have a backup plan prepared in case they miss out on Šeško in the summer, with Sporting Lisbon’s sharpshooter, Viktor Gyökeres, also considered a top striker by Vincent Kompany and the club’s board.
