Real Madrid's new manager, Xabi Alonso, has implemented strict rules at the Los Blancos camp, which is aimed at pushing the players to be fully prepared to bounce back after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
As reported by Defensa Central, the former Bayer Leverkusen manager has introduced a strict policy that states that if any player arrives late to training, he will be fined with a hefty penalty charge.
It is being reported that the Real Madrid gaffer demands his players report to training sessions on time, which now start at 9:30 am sharp, with coaches and other staff also expected to be present at the exact time.
Even the slightest delays will result in hefty penalty charges, which Alonso and co. believe will be a necessary measure for instilling discipline and a new DNA into the squad.
Dani Ceballos becomes the first penalty-bearer for breaching Xabi Alonso's new rule amidst uncertainty surrounding his future
One Real Madrid player has already been punished for breaching this new rule, as the ground cameras captured recent footage of Spanish international Dani Ceballos reporting eight minutes late to training, causing him to incur a penalty fee as a fine.
The 29-year-old's late arrival could in fact be because of his ongoing difficult situation at Real Madrid, as the Spaniard's expectations are reportedly becoming a bit unreasonable for the La Liga giants.
Currently, Ceballos remains fully committed to Real Madrid, but he wants more gametime and hopes to play a more important role under the management of Xabi Alonso than he did under previous manager Carlo Ancelotti.
However, with players like Arda Güler stepping up to preoccupy his position in the midfield, Ceballos could be seen leaving this summer, with the Galacticos also reported to be open to selling the ex-Arsenal midfielder.
