Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca faced the media for the first time after the verdict found the club guilty of all the charges put against them and said that the club's titles won during this time period are “absolutely not” tainted even though the club has been found guilty by the Premier League.

The Italian showed his support for the club's owners and believes that the club will appeal against the verdict and the actual truth will eventually prevail.

An independent commission of the Premier League found Manchester City guilty of all charges relating to breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons.

As reported by the BBC, the club has appealed against the verdict and claimed in a statement the commission's ruling contained "clear material errors of law, principle, and fact and is unsafe."

Manchester City, who are set to play Liverpool at Anfield this week, looked quite confident in the press conference and Maresca said the "feeling is fantastic" among his players and they are not affected by "the noise" surrounding the club.

“The reason I joined this club is that I completely trust, 100%, the owner, the CEO, the sporting director, and all the organization. So I don't have any doubt about that,” said Maresca upon facing questions regarding the verdict. (sic)

"I spoke with the club for sure. We all trust, and probably the right moment to speak about that is when we are going to win this appeal." (sic)

He further added, "For me, the players—we can control just the pitch side, the football side. So we are focused on that. This is what we can do and what we can control.” (sic)

The Italian was chosen as Pep Guardiola's successor in June, and Maresca is currently in his third spell at the club following the time spent as the academy coach and as Guardiola's assistant coach, which included the treble-winning 2022-23 campaign before he moved to Leicester City and Chelsea.

Former Manchester City captain and Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany also showed his support for the club in a press meet. He says,

"I played 11 years for the club, and I've loved all the years I've played for the club. Everything we've achieved and done on the pitch I'm really proud of.” (sic)

He added, "Everything else, as a player you're not a part of that. Right now, as a coach of Bayern Munich, I'm not too occupied with that topic.” (sic)
