Manchester United are looking to offload the "deadwood" players from the squad this summer in order to be able to register their new players as per the PSR guidelines. However, manager Ruben Amorim has delivered a clear-cut statement to the clubs who are interested in signing their “unwanted” players.
The Red Devils have listed Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia in their unwanted list and want them to depart before the new season begins.
While Rashford has sealed a stunning upgrade with a move to FC Barcelona, the rest haven't been able to do so yet, with no standing offers available at the moment for Sancho, Antony, Malacia, or Garnacho.
Real Betis aim to sign Antony on a permanent move but cannot afford to pay Manchester United's £25 million asking fee for him at one go, which continues to stall the deal.
On the other hand, Juventus are reportedly interested in Jadon Sancho and are hoping for a swap deal involving Douglas Luiz with Man United.
Speaking about his out-of-order players in a recent press conference, Ruben Amorim stated, “Some players have to find a new place so we have more space in the team, and other players clearly show they want a new challenge and want new teams." (sic)
He later dropped a surprise by stating, “I understand the clubs are waiting for the last minute, but they can have a surprise. I'm ready to receive the players. (sic)
Manchester United are still keen on adding more firepower up front
Manchester United have successfully completed the signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha but are still keen on adding more firepower to their attack in this transfer window.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with Benjamin Sesko, who appears to check all of Manchester United's criteria for a new striker. The 22-year-old is also reportedly open to a move to England.
However, the biggest obstacle for Manchester United at the moment is his massive price tag of £70 million, and now Newcastle United's strong interest in the Slovak also poses another major hindrance.
United's recent history with big-money signings has put them into a huge dilemma. However, considering Sesko’s quality and if he lives up to his expectations, this price would be a steal for a player of his caliber.
