Leicester City manager and former Manchester United player and coach, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, was fuming at Manchester United's late winner in the FA Cup clash, which appeared to have clearly come from an offside position.

In an intense clash on Friday, the Foxes took the lead in the 42nd minute through Bobby De Cordova-Reid's goal, but was cancelled out by Joshua Zirkzee equalizer in the 68th minute.

Harry Maguire then netted an injury-time header to win the game for the Red Devils, but the videos later showed that the buildup to the goal was clearly offside.

Rudd Van Nistelrooy blamed the English FA’s incompetence for not installing VAR in the early rounds of the competition, which led to United's decisive goal in the game.

The Dutchman criticised these "silly" errors from the referees that can have a massive impact on a team’s season, while he also stated that these incidents can have a demoralizing effect on the team, too, when they're already struggling.

Speaking to the media after the match, Van Nistelrooy said, “We are not defeated in Fergie time; we are defeated in offside time. We are gutted.” (sic)

He further added, “When you prepare for the whole week for this game and reacting after the Everton loss and put in a performance like that but it is decided on a clear and obvious mistake, that is unacceptable and unthinkable at this level. We have nothing else to do but pick ourselves up. It is not what the team deserved.” (sic)

Manchester United qualify for the next stage of the FA Cup despite a lackluster performance

Ruben Amorim's men have qualified for the next round of the FA Cup. The win was termed “scrappy” by the fans; however, it was much needed for the team.

The Red Devils are on a poor run of form and have found no stable rhythm despite replacing their former manager, Erik ten Hag.

Statistically, this is currently the worst season Manchester United have had in the league. They sit in 13th place in the Premier League points table and have accumulated just 29 points from 24 games, and it is also the first time that United have lost 11 games so early in a season.

Defensively, the team is leaking goals, and there seems to be no confidence in the front three.

Ruben Amorim needs to figure out the solutions to these major problems soon; otherwise, he might end up in the same position as United's former manager.
