Harry Kane is truly in the prime of his career and has broken yet another record in the Bundesliga. As he scored in Bayern’s 4-0 win against Heidenheim, he reached the century mark in goal contributions in the German top flight.
The 32-year-old has bagged 81 goals and 19 assists as he reached this incredible milestone. Kane became the fastest player to do so in just 78 games.
Bayern legend Arjen Robben held the previous record, needing 119 games to achieve the same feat. The Englishman has also set his sights on breaking Robert Lewandowski's record of scoring the most goals (41) in a single Bundesliga season, and he has already bagged 19.
“I’m extremely proud,” said Kane in the post-match interview when he was told about his new milestone. (sic)
He further added, "I think it’s entirely down to the commitment that I’ve put in every day, to the work that I’ve put in, and also to the teammates and the coaching staff who keep making me better and keep making me improve." (sic)
I don’t focus too much on these things, but when they happen, I just look forward to bringing on the next one. So, let’s see how quickly we can hit the next 100.” (sic)
The England captain, who was speculated to leave the club after his contract ends at Bayern, has reassured fans that he's enjoying life in Munich and wishes to contribute much more to the club.
Kane is also a leader in the dressing room, and a lot of young players look up to him. Bayern CEO Max Eberl has hailed the Englishman for upholding the standards at Bayern Munich and described him as world-class.
The English skipper credited the boss, Vincent Kompany, for bringing the best out of him at Bayern Munich.
“I think he has unlocked a different level in me,” Kane said in an interview. (sic)
He further added, “He is a fantastic coach, not just tactically but also as a person. We’re very similar in our mindset when it comes to working as a team. Full credit to him because from the moment he came in, there were question marks about what he would bring, and he’s been absolutely fantastic.” (sic)
