Manchester United are reportedly set to spend a huge amount in the summer as they aim to bring in a world-class No. 9 in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Rasmus Højlund, who joined Manchester United in the summer of 2023, was signed for a staggering fee of £64 million, after former manager Erik Ten Hag’s major interest in the striker.
However, the Danish striker has not managed to live up to the expectations so far, scoring just
12 goals in 49 appearances in the Premier League.
As a result of Højlund’s subpar debut season, United signed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna for a fee of £36.5 million last summer.
Unfortunately for Man Utd., Zirkzee’s performance has also not been as the Red Devils would have hoped, as a result of which the Red Devils will be forced to dig deeper into their pockets and go for another major striker signing in the upcoming transfer window.
Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyökeres emerge as Manchester United's top targets
According to GOAL, Manchester United have made Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyökeres their top striker targets for the summer, aiming to sign either one of the deadly strikers.
The situation of both Victor and Viktor appears doubtful at their respective clubs, as both strikers are tipped for a ‘big’ move in the upcoming summer.

Viktor Gyökeres’ tremendous performances over the course of the last two seasons have made him one of the most sought-after strikers across Europe.
The Red Devils have been tipped to sign Gyökeres ever since Ruben Amorim’s arrival, with reports claiming that one of the big targets of the Portuguese manager is to bring his former star striker to his new club.
Whether Gyökeres will leave Sporting Lisbon in the summer or not still remains unclear, but United will make a sure-shot move to try and sign the Swede.
On the other hand, Victor Osimhen will surely be leaving Galatasaray at the end of the season after the club failed to permanently sign him from his parent club, Napoli.
With Antonio Conté expected to maintain his stance on the Nigerian, Osimhen’s agent and representatives have already begun their search for finding a new club for the star striker.
Osimhen has been heavily linked to Chelsea since last summer, and the Blues are expected to finally make a move for the Nigerian this summer.
However, Manchester United are reportedly ready to battle it out with their Premier League rivals in the race to sign the 26-year-old striker.
