It was just a few days ago that the Real Madrid fans were seen booing their new star signing Kylian Mbappé, who was being blamed for their club’s disappointing exit against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final tie.

However, yesterday, they saw the resurgence of the French captain against Celta Vigo, where the 26-year-old No. 9 re-established himself in the heart of the Santiago Bernabeu and ended up sending a clear message to the fans by scoring a spectacular brace against Celta Vigo to earn 3 crucial points for the Los Blancos.

Celta gave their best to take advantage of a Real Madrid side that has struggled in recent times; however, the hosts managed to just edge past them by winning the game 3-2 to keep their hopes alive in the La Liga title race.

Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo: As it happened

Both sides started the game with high intensity in order to bag an early goal, with the likes of Arda Güler and Marcos Alonso turning out to be the livewires for their respective teams.

After a lot of efforts, Real finally managed to break the deadlock via Arda Güler , who scored an absolute worldie in the 33rd minute, launching a beautiful inside-of-the-boot curler which landed at the back of the net.

It didn’t take the Galacticos long to double their lead, as in the 40th minute, Kylian Mbappe attempted a shot from outside the six-yard box where he lost his footing during the sequence; however, he still ended up scoring to make it 2-0 for Real Madrid.

The hosts looked hungry despite their two-goal advantage as Mbappé found the back of the net once again just minutes after entering into the second, scoring with a brilliant placement in the bottom right corner with his left foot, leaving the keeper with no chance.

Despite being 3 goals down, Celta did not give up and managed to crawl back into the game with Javi Rodriguez and Williot Sweberg’s goals in the 69th and the 79th-minute marks, respectively, giving Madrid a huge scare of dropping crucial points.

However, Real did manage to hang on to their lead as they lived to fight another day in the La Liga title race. With last night’s win, the Galacticos have climbed up to 75 points having played 34 matches while also picking up their 23rd win in the league this season.

Real Madrid also managed to move back to being just 4 points behind their arch-rivals, FC Barcelona, who they will face in a title-deciding game on Sunday, in which a win for Barcelona will seal the La Liga title for them.
