Real Madrid and French superstar Kylian Mbappé has withdrawn the moral harassment allegations he made against his former club Paris Saint-Germain, just days before his reunion with the French giants in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Club.
As per reports from The Athletic UK, the 26-year-old is now only aiming to recover his unpaid wages from the Ligue 1 giants, which are worth up to €55 million.
Mbappé, who left PSG, after years of speculations, in a "chaotic" manner after his relationship with the club's manager, Luis Enrique, was reported to be completely broken, will be getting ready to face his past at the MetLife Stadium tonight.
The Mbappé-PSG wage dispute: What really happened?
Mbappé's exit from Paris Saint-Germain didn't go smoothly, as he allegedly suffered moral harassment and extortion by the club's management back in 2023, which his lawyers confirmed earlier on Monday after dropping the criminal charge that they had filed against the Champions League winners.
Despite withdrawing the moral harassment complaint, L'Equipe has confirmed the French captain and his lawyers are still fighting to recoup his €55 million (£47.6m/$64.4m) unpaid salary and bonuses from the Ligue 1 giants, which he didn't receive during the final months of his PSG career.
This financial issue is creating a new tension between Mbappé and his former club, and it seems that it is far from being over at the moment, as both sides are expected to lock their horns in the coming months in this legal battle.
