Arsenal continued their brilliant run of form this season as new signing Eberechi Eze bagged a sensational hat-trick as the Gunners humiliated archrivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's team faced a setback last matchday when they dropped points against Sunderland, but Manchester City’s loss away to Newcastle United and their dominating victory in the North London derby have put them back in the hot seat for the Premier League title.

Eze, who had been the top target for Tottenham until Arsenal hijacked the deal, bagged the first hat-trick in his career, and it was also the first hat-trick scored in the NLD since 1978.

The Gunners, even without the likes of star players like Gabriel, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, and Viktor Gyokeres out due to injury, managed to outclass their bitter rivals, and it just showcases why Mikel Arteta's men are the firm favourites to lift the league they've been chasing for quite some time now.

The Gunners managed to create an xG of 1.93 while attempting 17 shots on goal, whereas Spurs could only muster an xG of 0.07 with only 3 shots on goal, which was quite a dismal performance by Thomas Frank’s side.

Mikel Arteta's team now sits atop the table with 29 points after MD 12, six points clear of second-placed Chelsea and five points clear of third-placed Man City.

The whole of North London knows who's Eze now, as boyhood Gunner becomes the hero for Arsenal in the derby

Thomas Frank had been asked about Tottenham Hotspur missing out on signing Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window. The Danish coach firmly replied, “Who is Eze? ”. Well, now he knows, as the 27-year-old completely dismantled Tottenham on Sunday.

Eze, a boyhood gunner, had been a part of the Hale End Academy when he was 13 years old, but he was released soon after. Since then, he faced rejection from the Fulham academy, Reading and even Millwall before making his breakthrough at QPR.

Fast forward to today's date, he is living his dream by scoring his first-ever career hat-trick in the North London derby in front of the home fans, which is also the first NLD hat-trick in Premier League history.

Back in 2015, he had posted a tweet on X saying,

"I swear I'm gonna make it, and when I do, they're gonna show this tweet." (sic)

The English international has not only made it in life but also scripted his name forever in Arsenal's legacy and might go on to win the league this season, being the firm favourite to do so.

The 27-year-old signed for the Gunners this season in a deal worth £67m and has already cemented himself as a key man for Mikel Arteta's game plan. His addition to the side has provided the cutting edge to the Gunners which they lacked before in the creative department.

"That is crazy. Special day, man. Special day for me, my family," Eze said in the post-match on-air interview. (sic)

He further added in joy, “I don't think I could have ever dreamed of it. This is more special than that. I can only thank God” (sic)
