Al Nassr edged past FC Goa 2-1 in Margao on Wednesday to win three consecutive matches in their AFC Champions League Two group whereas the Indian side slipped to their third consecutive defeat despite a courageous performance against Al Nassr.

This was a huge game for the Indian club as the build up to this game was surrounding the participation of Cristiano Ronaldo in India which attracted lots of visitors from different parts of the nation.

Although the Portuguese super-star did not travel with the squad, Al Nassr still boasted a super squad with star players like Sadio Mane, Kingsley Coman, Joao Felix and Inigo Martinez.

As expected, the visitors started the game in a dominating fashion bagging two quick fire goals early in the first half from Angelo Gabriel and Haroune Camara but after that the Gaurs' made Jorge Jesus and co. sweat a lot.

Indian youngster Brison Fernandes announced himself in style as he scored a picturesque goal dribbling past a crowded box and curled it past a helpless Bento in goal becoming the first Indian player to score a goal in the AFC Champions League Two.

Al Nassr continued to dominate possession in the second half but a courageous effort from the Indian side kept them at bay and the match ended 2-1 in favour of the Al-Alami.

This courageous performance from an underdog Indian team against such a star studded team impressed viewers worldwide and even earned praise from Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus.

“The objective of the match is done, which is to win and pick up three points. We won against a team which refused to lose,” Jesus told reporters after the clash. (sic)

He further added that, “They have some quick players, but we controlled the match and scored goals. We are leaving with three points. A lot of our players needed opportunities (with minutes on the field). That was also one of our targets.” (sic)
