German and Bayern Munich football legend Thomas Müller has finally arrived in Vancouver following the end of a 25-year love story with Bayern Munich, where he won 13 Bundesliga titles and 2 Champions League titles.
The 35-year-old finally decided to put an end to his highly illustrated career in Munich and begin a new adventure in a new continent altogether. Müller had been rumoured to retire at the Bavarian club at the end of the previous season but decided to take on a new challenge in career..
Marking the beginning of his new journey last night, Müller made his first appearance for his new club, Vancouver Whitecaps, in a 1-1 draw against Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer. The German superstar was brought on at the hour mark, which was greeted by loud cheers and screams.
In his 30-minute cameo, Müller capped a decent display, where he recorded an 83% pass completion rate and made 27 touches on the ball. The 35-year-old was seen moving around the field and dictating to his teammates during plays.
While he failed to make a mark on the game, Müller's energy and desire to keep on going surely had the fans impressed as they gear up to see the German superstar in action once again on 24th August.
“Never change, Thomas Müller!”: The German star jokes about missing compatriot Manuel Neuer on his flight to Canada
Thomas Müller shared a hilarious video during his flight to Vancouver after completing his move to Vancouver Whitecaps, where he acted to look for his former teammate and good friend Manuel Neuer.
The 35-year-old, who left Bayern after 25 years, had spent a long time with Manuel Neuer in the club and in the national team as well while sharing a special bond with the keeper.
He jested about the fact that it was the first time he was travelling without the company of his fellow compatriot by saying, “I’m on my flight to Vancouver. I’m looking for the GOAT. Can you help me? I cannot find him anywhere." (sic)
He further added, “It’s my first flight without Manuel Neuer since maybe 15 years; I don’t know. It’s the first time in a very long time that I’m joining a new team.” (sic)
