Thomas Frank’s Tottenham Hotspur were stunned by West Ham, who are struggling to avoid relegation this season, as they were beaten 2-1 at home. Spurs have not won a single game in their last five games, which has increased pressure on the Danish boss.

The Tottenham Hotspur stadium erupted into boos in their last game and the fans demanded Frank to be sacked the next day. However, the former Brentford manager has been backed by the board and will be in the dugout against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.

The Tottenham boss has a squad with only eleven available players and among them three are struggling with fitness. Certain sources feel this game could be the final chance for Frank to prove himself at the north London club.

However, he defended the board in the last press conference and revealed that the owners of the club still have faith in him.

“I’ve just been feeling the trust, I’ve said that at every press meeting that there is backing and support. I had lunch with Nick, Vinai and Johan today, so all is good. I know it’s part of the media circus. The only focus I have is to do everything I can for us to win against Dortmund,” said Thomas Frank. (sic)

He further added, “We had a good conversation about life and football, the future of the club, everything normal. Of course, there’s a little bit of stormy weather out there. I just think it’s an extremely good sign because normally people are running away if there’s bad news or bad weather coming. They’re normally not coming in and being friendly for lunch.”  (sic)

Dortmund are a big challenge for Frank and co. The German giants are second in Bundesliga and have a fearsome attack which could pose a huge threat to Tottenham’s shaky backline. They also have a good record in the Champions League this season, having lost just one game so far.

Tottenham have not built a squad that can compete with the top teams, either in the Premier League or the Champions League. There are plenty of cracks in the midfield and up front, which gets exposed in almost every game.

Tottenham have to continue putting faith in Thomas Frank and build a squad according to his strengths next season, and he would do a good job like he did back at Brentford.
