Como stunned Napoli and advanced to the Coppa Italia semi-finals for the first time in forty years after Antonio Conte’s side crashed out in the penalty shootout.

Lobotka’s penultimate penalty was saved by keeper Jean Butez as it led to absolute scenes in the away stands while the Napoli faithful stood quiet and stunned. Cesc Fabregas' side came out as the winner in the shootout by 7-6 after the game had ended 1-1 after full time.

Martin Baturina bagged a penalty just before half-time, but Napoli’s Antonio Vergara cancelled it out with a beautiful goal moments after the second half started. Napoli came close to scoring a second when Amir Rrahmani’s header was cleared off the line.

Fabregas' side defended brilliantly, kept its shape and was quick on the break. Como will now face Inter Milan in the semi-final.

Como vs Napoli: Antonio Conte slams referee's decisions during the game

Napoli boss Antonio Conte slammed the match officials after their stunning loss against Como in the Coppa Italia, which saw them knocked out from the competition.

The home side felt Jacobo Ramon should've been sent off after he forcefully held Rasmus Højlund while he was about to break through on goal. Conte slammed the Italian match officials, calling it a common occurrence in the Serie A and also other domestic competitions.

The former Chelsea boss demanded the match officials properly utilise the VAR technology, as he was not at all satisfied with the quality of match officiating in the game against Como.

“Let’s not always go and talk about referees, because there's always going to be someone complaining. It's certainly not a good season for referees and for VAR; I hope they can find something that will improve the situation,” said Conte following the game.

He further added, "The fact is, everyone is complaining – coaches, players and fans – so the sport needs to step up and improve, because just as we improve our teams, they have to improve the referees and VAR officials. It's not good for football; it's not good for us." (sic)
