FC Barcelona have finally received the green signal from La Liga for the pending registration of their new signing Joan Garcia as the latest addition to the squad, after the league committee approved Marc-Andre Ter Stegen’s medical report.
The league’s medical commission has approved that Ter Stegen's injury meets the long-term injury criteria that has been set in the rules and regulations of the league, allowing Barça to free up the German goalkeeper's wages and use the funds to register Joan Garcia, who recently completed his move.
As per reports, as long as Ter Stegen is sidelined, 40% of his wages will be freed from the club's wage bill, which will allow them to easily register Marcus Rashford as well, who joined on loan from Manchester United.
Joan Garcia is expected to make his official debut against Mallorca tomorrow
Barcelona are now fully committed to getting Joan Garcia registered before their season opener against Mallorca tomorrow, with the process getting significantly delayed due to the fiasco between Ter Stegen and the club management.
However, since both parties resolved their issues, Barca are now reported to be progressing well in their attempts to register their new signing in a race against time.
The club released an official statement to reassure the fans, stating, “The club will proceed tomorrow to immediately formalise the registration of player Joan Garcia.” (sic)
With the club doctors and league's medical commission approving Ter Stegen's long-term injury, the club officials are set to deregister the Barça skipper and register Garcia in his place so that he can be fully approved and be ready to start against Mallorca tomorrow.
With the approval from La Liga already secured, the Catalan giants are reported to be highly confident about completing the entire process and making Garcia available for tomorrow's highly anticipated season opener.
