Arsenal's push to sign Eberechi Eze has intensified in the past few days as the Gunners are now reportedly set to offer a swap + cash deal to Crystal Palace for their star midfielder.
Eze's £68m release clause is considered "too high" by the Gunners, as Noni Madueke's £52m signing, along with their chase for Viktor Gyokeres, costing a hefty £64.3m, will lead to almost full depletion of their summer transfer budget. As a result, they are seeking a cash + swap deal for Eze to afford this transfer move.
As per reports from Deadline Day Live, Mikel Arteta and co. are willing to offer their experienced winger Leandro Trossard as a part of the deal, to which Palace are open to, as Oliver Gasner is in search of a winger and is said to be an admirer of the Belgian winger.
Eze has been one of Arsenal's priority targets for the summer, with the young Englishman having impressed the Premier League fans since the beginning of his journey at the top level, starting from Championship side Queens Park Rangers and later on becoming a superstar for Crystal Palace.
His tremendous performances for the Eagles over the past few seasons, recording 40 goals and 28 assists in 167 appearances across all competitions, have made him one of the most exciting prospects for the upcoming generation of midfielders.
Eze to Emirates: The perfect move for Arsenal?
Arsenal are surely in need of strengthening their attack, which has appeared to be the missing piece in Mikel Arteta's squad, having fallen just short of winning the Premier League title for three seasons in a row.
A creative, advanced No. 10 along with a deadly striker is exactly what Arsenal need. Gyokeres' signing will cover their no. 9 needs, while Eze's transfer will fulfill their attacking midfielder needs.
The 27-year-old Palace midfielder possesses the ability to create attacks in tight spaces while having a tremendous eye for goal. On top of that, the Eze is also a regular set-piece taker for his side, bringing in an added advantage for Mikel Arteta and his men.
On the other hand, the deal would be very beneficial for Crystal Palace as well, with the club being in search of a versatile winger this summer, which is one of the many things that Leandro Trossard brings to the table, along with experience, which is also highly required by Oliver Gasner as his team plays in Europe for the first time next season.
