Canadian star full-back Alphonso Davies has extended his contract with Bayern Munich, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2030.
Spanish giants Real Madrid have been very interested in signing the Bayern Munich defender, with reports claiming manager Carlo Ancelotti wishes to replace Ferland Mendy with the Canadian international.

Davies has made 220 appearances so far for Bayern, while scoring 12 goals and providing 34 assists.
“Don't give up, no matter how hard it is”: The story of Alphonso Davies
The journey of Alphonso Davies in his career is truly an inspirational one. He made his way from growing up in a refugee camp to the biggest stage in world football.
His family fled the civil war in Liberia and took shelter in Ghana, where Phonzie saw his parents shed blood and sweat to nurture their family.
The Canadian had only two options at the time: take arms and fight for his land or chase his dreams of becoming a professional footballer.
Life in Canada was also hard for him, as immigrants of African origin aren't treated well at all. It was at this time when Davies got determined to stand up and do something meaningful in life.
His natural athletic ability persuaded him to play sports on a regular basis, which is when he got introduced to the beautiful game.
Davies' coaches from school were left amazed by his abilities on and off the ball. His first touch and speed caught everyone's attention, leading him to rise through the system of the game.

Alphonso Davies made history in Major League Soccer when he became the first 2000s-born player to earn a professional appearance. He was just 15 years, 8 months, and 15 days old at the time.
The star defender made his national team debut for Canada at the age of 16 in the Gold Cup and also became the youngest player ever to score at the tournament.
Following his stellar performances in the MLS, various European clubs began to scout him, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, and the club that gave the spotlight, Bayern Munich.
In 2018, the Bavarian giants completed Davies' signing, and the rest, as they say, is history.
